What data do we collect?
We collect your email address and name at sign-up, training data you share via Strava (runs, duration, distance and heart rate where recorded), and data you enter in the app (age, training frequency, race goals, and any injuries or complaints you choose to share). Injury- and health-related information is processed only with your explicit consent.
How do we use the data?
The data is used solely to generate and adjust your personal training plan, and to give the AI coach context about your training. We do not use your data for advertising. Sharing with third parties happens only as described in the AI processing section, and with data processors that run the service (Supabase).
AI processing of your data
When DistanceLab builds your training plan and when you use the coach, relevant information is sent to an AI model at our provider Anthropic, with OpenAI as a backup if Anthropic is unavailable. What is shared is your training profile, your goal, completed sessions (including heart rate from Strava), injuries and complaints you have reported yourself, and the messages you write to the coach. The information is used only to answer your request, not to train the providers' models. You give explicit consent to this processing in the app before the AI features are used, and you can withdraw that consent at any time in Settings.
Strava integration
If you connect Strava, we fetch training data through Strava's official API. You can disconnect Strava in the app at any time. We store only the data needed to give you a better training plan, and delete Strava data within 7 days of disconnection.
Storage and security
Data is stored securely with Supabase (EU region), encrypted in transit and at rest. We keep training data for as long as you have an active account. After account deletion, all personal data is removed within 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data. You can delete your account directly in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account, which removes all your data. For other requests, contact us at support@distancelab.no.
Cookies
We do not use third-party analytics or marketing cookies. The app uses secure authentication tokens stored locally on your device.
